ROUTES GALLERY: A Wonderful Gallery in San Anselmo. The Proprietor is Richard Reuther, very kind and knowledgeable--he selects these items personally.
Truly an amazing collection! Located at 1508 San Anselmo Avenue in San Anselmo. Website: www.routesgallery.com
Many carvings, pottery, fountains, furniture and so much more.
Here is just a small sampling of the amazing art inside and outside in the garden:
I love the scale of this face. It would make a wonderful statement in a wall near a pool...
Very elegant--either of these would create a lovely focal point in a room.
For some reason this face reminds me of the Virgin Mary, but it would be lovely surrounded by vines next to an intimate bench...
The painting really makes a bold statement--it's quite large and I think would work great in a loft with the need for a dramatic piece on wall space.
I was drawn (pun intended) to this flower abstraction. The gold is luminous.
Yet another golden abstraction...a beautiful piece.
I want this one--and the one like it below--for Christmas. The photo does not do it justice--it's extremely luminous, yet simple, neutral and balanced.
Again, the gold is luminous and the textures elegant. These would look perfect above my fireplace....
The blue Buddha had to be my favorite. I love the graphic quality of the image and the serene color. This would be great in an atrium.
I was also drawn to this tall blue vase. On the other side are cherry blossoms. It's quite substantial and stable...and would make a good pairing with the blue Buddha above. My friend Hasan was kind enough to stand next to it for scale: he's six feet tall.
The painting on this vase is exquisite--graphic, yet neutral and elegant.
From Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma....some cool salvage items, sculpture....and of course gardens.
How cool are these big chucks of blue glass??
I'm not sure what I would do with these metal bowls--perhaps planters? Or upholster the inside and create an awesome nest to curl up in? Or for a water garden? The possibilities....
These gnarly pieces of wood certainly have possibilities...
